My personal top 10 music video's of 2011

These are my personal to 10 music video's for 2011

1. Marsha Ambrosius - 'Far Away'

I feel in love with this music video when I saw it earlier this year. I was surprised that Marsha tackled such a heavy issue on her debut music video from her debut solo album. The music video tells a very compelling story about assumptions and acceptence.

2. Beyonce - 'Love On Top'

I have always been a fan of the "old school" music and I knew from the first scene that a 80's music video by New Edition was being depicted. As this video goes on it continues to pay homage to several male R&B/Pop groups such as New Edition, Jackson 5, The Temptations, and i am not sure which group the last is supposed to be.

3, Mindless Behavior Ft. Ciara, Tyga and Lil Twist - 'My Girl (Remix)'

These kids really got my attention with this remix to their debut single pulling in heavy hitter Ciara and well known rappers Tyga and Lil Twist. I really like the song and the music video is cool too.

4. Kelly Rowland Ft. Big Sean - 'Lay It On Me'

Kelly is putting on a real sexual look with her third album "Here I Am" and it is apparently working for her. I have noticed that just as several male rappers have half naked females in their music videos, she appears to be doing the same with half naked males. She really seems to have found her niche with the whole grown and sexy thing she is putting on.

5. Chris Brown - 'She Ain't You'

I really like this video that he dedicated to the late Michael Jackson because he also seemed to be having a really good time in this vid. I have not seen him this happy in a long time since the whole Rihanna thing. I also really liked the fact that he featured his good friend Seven from the former girl group Richgirn on both the song and in the music video.

6. Marsha Ambrosius - 'Late Nights & Early Mornings'

Marsha did it again with her second single from her debut solo album. The album's title track also delivers a very powerful message. In all honesty, I was kinda confused until the end of the video and then I was like Oooooo I get it now.

6. Monica - 'Until It's Gone'

I love music video's that tell a story and this was no exception. The music video goes on to show that tomorrow is not promised. She was able to pull actor Brian White in on the video. I think it tells a compelling story.

8. Chris Brown Ft. Busta Rhymes & Lil Wayne - 'Look At Me Now'

This music video is just pure fun. Chris looks like he was just having a good time in this video which overall was a good look for him. The video overall was just a good time.

9. Britney Spears - 'Criminal'

I LOVE this music video just as I LOVE the song. The music video really portrayed a movie involving abuse, betrayal, love, and crime as 2 love struck people meet and one criminal seduces the other in a life of crime. Overall, this plot line would lead to a REALLY good movie.

10. Big Sean Ft. Nicki Minaj - 'Dance (A$$) (Remix)'

This video was really just as expected for me for a party / club heavy track. I did not really notice a point to this music video but I still liked it.

(New Music) Anthony Harrell - 'Baby Be Mine'

Baby Be Mine Cover Art

Anyone who truely knows me knows that I have been a Michael Jackson fan for as long as I can remember. I grew up on his music and it is overall a really good remake. Anthony kept it real simple and did not overdo it like some musical artist tend to do.

Amy Winehouse's "Back To Black" album tops the U.K. albums chart

Now is this really a surprise? I mean dont get me wrong because I LOVE that album but it has become common place for an artist to sell current and prior albums very well after their passing. Prime example is the R&B singer Aaliyah who's self titled album sales increased by 400% the week after he death 10 years ago. Or even the late great Michael Jackson who had his albums appearing in hundreds ir not thousands of stores across the world in 2009.

Michael Jackson
Now, anyone who truely knows me as a person knows that I am a MJ fan. Im not even gonna say a huge go crazy, crying type of fan but I grew up on his music. (New Music Video) Chris Brown Ft. Seven (of Richgirl) - 'She Ain't You'

This is actually one of my favorite tracks off of his "F.A.M.E." album. The track samples 'Human Nature' by Michael Jackson and Chris teams up with Seven from the group Richgirl that he has collaborated with several times in the past.

(Album Review) Michael Jackson - "Michael"

Michael

So, I just finished listening to the entire album via my post regarding the album preview. I grew up on MJ and always liked his music and always will. Listening to the album you can tell these were songs from 10 - 30 years ago and any MJ stan can probibly tell you which album these songs were supossed to be on. There are 3 features on this album and the only one I found as unnecessary was 50 cent. Overall, I like the album although the vocals on a few of the tracks are questionable at best. I still have every intention of buying the album. Overall it is still a good collection of previously unreleased music by MJ.

The upcoming album by the late king of pop is set for a December 14th release. To album contains 10 previously unreleased tracks. Preview the entire album and pre-order below.

(New Music) Michael Jackson Ft. Akon - Hold My Hand

Hold My Hand

MJ and Akon team up again on this track that was recorded in 2007 and leaked as an incomplete version in 2008 after the release of the 2008 version of 'Wanna Be Startin' Something 2008'. As I listen to this song, I in no way doubt that this is Michael. This is the second track released and the first official single from Michael's album set to be released on December 14th. I honestly see this album going several times platinum and possibly even diamond.

(New Music) Michael Jackson - 'Breaking News'

Breaking News

This track (recorded in 2007) will be featured on the upcoming album "Michael" due to be released December 14th. Now of course there is some drama regarding this track as Michael's mom Katherine, his children, and several members of his family do not believe that it is Michael on this track. However Sony Music claims that it has conducted voice authentications on the track and that it is Michael. After listening to this track I am not 100% sure it is him. It does sound like him at certain parts of the song, but overall it doesnt.

(New Music): Quincy Jones f/ T-Pain & Robin Thicke – ‘P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing)’

Quincy Jones, T-Pain, and Robin Thicke

Simply put I do not think they should have did a remake of this song circa 1983 by the late and legendary Michael Jackson. I HATED T-Pain on this song and I probibly would have had a better opinion of this remake with just Robin Thicke. Robin's vocals were on point in this remake as you could definately hear the soul in his voice. However T-Pain was completely un-necessary on this track. This is one of my favorite songs by MJ and it was butchered.

From the New Quincy Jones album "Q: Soul Bossa Nostra" due to be released November 9th.

Listen to 'P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing)' below.
