(New Music) Kaoz Ft. Zay - 'My BF Got A BF (Tonight)'

Kaoz Presents: Real Talk MPLS cover art

This track is pretty cool starting off with a slow feel but it then speeds up at the chorus. The song also has a cool beat that you can clap your hands to as Kaoz and Zay tell a interesting story and drops a very clear message of acceptance.

Serena Williams

This is not the worst, but at the same time it is not the best either. It somewhat crosses me as a joke because it is very apparent that not alot of thought was out into it.

(New Music) Justin Bieber Ft. Ying Yang Twins - 'Boyfriend (Remix)'

Boyfriend (Remix)

Ok, on the real, this is a hot ass song although I am getting a slight Justin Timberlake feel from the song. It really sounds like something he would do and although I like this song by Bieber at the same time it does not really cross me as original.

(Album Review) Monica - "New Life (Deluxe Edition)"

New Life (Deluxe Version)

This album is a strictly R&B album with alot of ballads and the album is pretty good if you like mid-tempo songs or ballads to relax to.

1. New Life (Intro) (Feat. Mary J. Blige) - The album starts off with Monica calling her good friend Mary J. Blige speaking on her life. Mary gives her very encouraging words and just tells her to continue moving forward with the support of her kids and her husband
2. It All Belongs To Me (Duet with Brandy) - In this song the ladies are just wanting everything that they bought back when the relationship ends.
3. Daddy's Good Girl - Monica tells her man that she needs him to tell her that he loves her more than buying things for her.
4. Man Who Has Everything - This song has a really smooth island beat and is basically talking to a man who has everything but deserves a woman who also has her own and can love him back and is always there for him.
5. Big Mistake - This song is talking about the big mistake of trying to make a relationship work after several mistakes which eventually showed that it clearly did not work. In my opinion, Monica was talking about her kids father Rocko.
6. Take A Chance (Feat. Wale) - In this song Monica starts by telling him that she is willing to take a chance on a relationship with him regardless of the women that he dated in the past. Wale then comes in talking about how he does not care about her past either and has cut the other chicks off.
7. Without You - This song is clearly a love song dedicated to Monica's husband where she sings about not being able to do anything without him and how much she loves him.
8. Until It's Gone - This song has always stuck out to me after watching the music video which served a very good point that goes along with the song itself. I really believe that one of the more important lines in this song says "I guess it's true that people say, you never know until it's gone".
9. Amazing - Here is another love song that simply says to the significant other how amazing they are while she expresses her love for him.
10. Cry - Monica goes on to tell him that he can let down his guard and cry in front of her. This song is all about that level of trust in a relationship.
11. Time To Move On - This song kind of gives me a 1950's feel with the beat and the background vocals. The song basically talks about the time to move on when the relationship is over. This song is a good ending to the standard version of the album/
12. New Life (Outro) - At the ending of the album Monica basically talks about leaving the past in the past and not looking back.

Deluxe Edition

13. Breathe - In this song, Monica sings about needing her space after the end of a relationship. She is just saying that she needs time to breathe.
14. In 3D - Monica sings about how she could see her and this guy together for the long haul. She goes on to explain how clearly she can see them together like in 20/20 or in 3D.
15. Catch Me - This song goes on to explain how she is really in love and wants him to catch her as she falls in love.
16. Anything (To Find You) (Feat. Rick Ross) - Monica remembers music from the 1990's on this track and briefly samples Mary J Blige's "You're All I Need" and Biggie's "Who Shot Ya" beat. Monica sings about doing anything to find her dream man that she has dreamed about for a long time. She goes on to talk about past relationships that did not work out.

(Album Review) SWV - "I Missed Us"

I Missed Us

After their last album "Release Some Tension" was released in 1997 the group (broke up nope wrong word) took a break for nearly fifteen years. This left their fans (myself included) believing that they were done for good. However, the group made a cameo performance at the BET Awards in 2008 and did a remix to Chris Brown's "She Ain't You" in 2011.So all in all, I am happy to see them making a comeback and reviving R&B music. Here are my thoughts on their album.

1. "Co-Sign" - The ladies started their highly anticipated return album with their debut single from the album marking their return to R&B music. This song explains a woman who is overly satisfied with her man and is open to taking it further.
2. "All About You" - This track is cool with the 90's throwback party feel and the sample of 'Kissing Game' by Hi-Five
3. "Show Off" (Feat. A.X.) - this track also features another 90's music sample of 'Come And Talk To Me' by Jodeci
4. "Everything I Love" - This is hands down a R&B track while the ladies sing about willing to risk everything they love for their man
5. "Do Ya" (Feat. Brianna Perry) - This track comes in with a uptempo disco type of beat. This track is a hands down club type of song. This song is one of those songs that just makes you want to dance.
6. "The Best Years" - This song talks about a past relationship and the good times in it. The song goes on to explain a mutual love in a past relationship and basically explaining to him that he was given the best years of his life.
7. "I Missed Us" - Now, we are getting to the title track of the album roughly halfway through. This track simply explains a past relationship and the trouble that it had in the past. The ladies are just wishing that the happier times in their relationships could be reached again.
8. "Better Than I" - This song is really for those who want to let their significant other know that the other chick is not better than her.
9. "Keep Your Home" - This song is about a man who might not be faithful to his woman so she attempts to keep him home and out of trouble
10. "Time To Go" - The song kicks off with a few rhymes by Taj which is not heard often. The song then goes on explain to the man that she is ready to move on and that it is time for him to go.
11. "Use Me" - This song is really showing appreciation for that special someone.
12. "Love Unconditionally" - In this song a woman tries to figure out of this man is the one for her although she already believes that he is.
13. "If Only You Knew" - The ladies cover the ageless song by Ms. Patti LaBelle.

Amazing

This track has a serious beat to it that thumps, but the lyrics are so-so. It was good to hear Chris ONLY singing again but it does not change the fact that the song is only decent at best.
