(Album Review) Beyoncé - "BEYONCÉ"

BEYONCÉ, Beyoncé
Purchase album on iTunes HERE

This album release with absolutely no promotion or lead single came as a complete surprise to many when it was released Friday, December 13th 2013. The album overall to me seems like it has more of a pop sound like her second and third albums which is not my preferred sound for her, but it works for her.

1. Pretty Hurts - In this song she talks about what a woman goes through to please others as far as her appearance
2. Haunted - The beginning of this song with the younger Beyoncé is adorable. When the song starts it goes on to talk about how she was "haunting" him and now she believes he is "haunting" her
3. Drunk In Love (feat. Jay Z) - She sings about how she is just drunk in love she is with her guy. The beat to this track is beyond sick and definitely club worthy.
4. Blow - This track from jump gave me a disco feel, and it really feels like a party track while she is talking about "turn that cherry out" and "daddy long-stroke"
5. No Angel - She sings about him being no angel, but admit that she isn't either
6. Partition - This track starts off with a nice heavy beat and to me it seems like at several points in the song she is doing some light rapping.
7. Jealous - In this song she sings about how she gets jealous and how he does not always keep his promises also that she is just human.
8. Rocket - This is a pretty good relaxing as far as the beat although it is sexually explicit as far as the lyrics go.
9.. Mine (feat. Drake) - This song is decent and Drake sings and raps on this track
10. XO - This is a real laid back and relaxing track that you can listen to in the car on a nice summer afternoon.
11. Flawless (feat. Chimamanda Ngozi Adiche) - This track is basically a reworked version of the track called "Bow Down".
12. Superpower (feat. Frank Ocean) - This song sounds like it would  have been a better fit for a Frank Ocean album.
13. Heaven - To me this sounds like something you would play when someone dies.
14. Blue (feat. Blue Ivy) - Now when I first heard this track I just assumed that it was an ode to her daughter but after thoroughly listening to it, I believe that parts of the song can be related to a relationship.

R&B Mix (Late 90's & 2000s) RNB/Soul -

As a guy who was born in the 80's and grew up in the 90's and early 2000's this is a good flashback.

(Music Video) Pharrell Williams - "Happy"

This is a fairly long 4 hour music video series, but in my opinion it is a very upbeat song that gives me the feeling of being in the 50's or 60's with a old school groove.

(Album Review) Tamar Braxton - "Love and War"

I have been looking forward to hearing this album ever since her second single and hearing her third single like two months ago only made me want the full album more.

Tracklisting

1. The One - The albums second single and appropriately placed track as #1 samples "Juicy" by the late Notorious B.I.G., this track goes on to explain her love and need for her man.
2. Tip Toe - I really like the thumping clubish beat on this track. I also love how she sings about keeping this "hush, hush"and away from the Wendy Williams Show.
3. Stay and Fight - In this song, she sings about staying and fighting for him and the relationship. I think it is a good song for those in a troubled relationship that want it to work.
4. Love and War -  The albums title track and first single telly a very interesting story about the ups and downs in a relationship.
5. All The Way Home - This may possibly be her forth single that goes on to talk about how she argues with her man but still thinks about him all the way home when she leaves his place.
6. One on One Fun - This is one of her short songs under 2 minutes but I could still hear this song being played in the club with the bass heavy beat.
7. She Did That - Another song and this one is barely over a minute so I think it is just a interlude.
8. Hot Sugar - Her upcoming third single is a uptempo club type of track that makes you want to grind and dance. She goes on to talk about how she teases him sexually.
9. Pieces - This song talks about how she does not just wants pieces of her man. She feels that if she cannot have all of him then she does not want him.
10. Where It Hurts - She does not want to cause him the same pain that his ex did. She only wants to help to heal his pain.
11. Prettiest Girl - This song is a ode to her man who makes her feel like the prettiest girl in the world.
12. Sound of Love - She sings about her love for her man and how he makes her feel.
13. White Candle - In this song, she compares she compares her relationship to a white candle and not wanting it to burn out.
14. Thank You Lord - The closing track on the album is a perfectly placed gospel track.

This album overall is a good album and worth the purchase.

(Album Review) TGT - "Three Kings"

Three of R&B's male crooners joined forces and created the group TGT consisting of Tyrese, Ginuwine and Tank, hence the group name.

Tracklist

1. Take It Wrong [ft. Black-Ty] - In my opinion this is a good leading track for the album with powerful vocals by the men and a slick rap by Black-Ty.
2. No Fun [ft. Problem] - This track is basically about sex with this woman and the fellas go on to sing that "it ain't no fun, if the fellas can't have none".
3. Sex Never Felt Better - I think that by the name of the song it would be fairly obvious what the song is about but here the description. The guys sing to their ladies about how good the sex is and how much they like it.
4. I Need - In this song they sing about how much they need her despite their past in the relationship. The goes on to express how sorry they are about the past.
5. Next Time Around - This song is from the resentful male point of view as she prepares to leave. He says to her that he will do better next time.
6. INTERLUDE
7. Hurry - In this song, the men just want their ladies to hurry up and get their to them.
8. Weekend Love - This song is all about their special time on the weekends with their special ladies.
9. Lessons In Love - This is another sexually charged song, or at least somewhat with the sexual inuendo's. It goes on to explain that  he can be her million dollar man.
10. INTERLUDE
11. Explode - This is yet another sexually charged song with sexual inuendo's such as wanting to be near "ground zero" when she "explodes"
12. FYH - This song basically goes on to explain to her that he will fight to make her happy.
13. OMG -  She has him turned up and on to the level where he can only say OMG.
14. Running Back - He misses her badly and wants to run back to her because he misses her and her love.
15. Burn Out - This song is for that special lady who's love is like a fireplace but never burns out.
16. Tearing It Down -Here we go again with yet another sexually explicit song, but to me it is not blatantly in your face and overall I like the song.
17. Our House - The final track on this album which goes on to explain that her house should be their house. He thinks about it as he leaves her house and wants to turn around.

"channel ORANGE" by Frank Ocean

channel ORANGE

About 2 weeks after Frank posted an open letter on his Tumblir talking about his first love being a man he releases his debut album. Frank has received a lot of support from several people in the entertainment industry and his fans. His early release to iTunes and Amazon total roughly 130,000 by his official album release on June 17th. The general public seems to not care about his sexuality. Now, on to the album, this album comes across as really mellow and calming to me. This is a must buy.

1. "Start" - This is simply the album intro
2. "Thinkin Bout You" - I have personally loved this song ever since I first heard it a few months ago. In this song, Frank sings about his feelings for that special someone that is always om his mind.
3. "Fertilizer" - This is really just a interlude with a 70's pop feel to it.
4. "Sierra Leone" - This song is fairly short, but he goes on to sing about how he is pending too much time alone with her. He then goes on to sing about how he grew up in Sierra Leone and how he feels about his lady.
5. "Sweet Life" - In this song, Frank sings about his special someone and how they live the sweet life in an affluent African American neighborhood and were born into money.
6. "Not Just Money" - Another interlude that basically talks about money and the importance of it.
7. "Super Rich Kids" (Feat. Eric Sweatshirt) - This song talks about wealthy kids and the troubles that they have. Earl then comes in and raps about the bratty rich kids.
8. "Pilot Jones" - In this song, Frank sings about his girl that gets smokes often to get high. She is also unemployed, and he no longer has much in common with her anymore. She keeps him high and is his "Pilot Jones".
9. "Crack Rock" - The song talks about someone that is basically a crackhead and their past, in addition to their former love interest.
10. "Pyramids" - This a practically 10 minute song which has an Egyptian plot line to it. Starting off in ancient times then jumping forward to present day and then starts to talk about a female stripper who works a the Pyramid (strip club).
11. "Lost" - This song is about a girl who is just lost in life. It goes on to say that she is lost in the heat and thrill of it all
12. "White" (Feat. John Mayer) - This is another interlude with a instrumental jazz feel to it
13. "Monks" - This song talks about Frank's girl who is a young beautiful girl planning to run away with her boyfriend from her father
14. "Bad Religion" - This song starts off with Frank in a taxi as he tells the driver that they are his shrink currently during rush hour while the driver tells him that he needs prayer. He goes on to explain that this guy cannot love him as he loves them.
15. "Pink Matter" (Feat. Andre 3000) - This song is about strong feelings for a woman and how she makes him feel overall.
16. "Forrest Gump" - This song bluntly describes Frank's feelings for a dude who is very kindhearted and that is always on his mind
17. "End / Golden Girl" (Feat. Tyler, The Creator) - The track starts off with the ending interlude then after a decent pause the final track starts. In "Golden Girl" Frank sings about how his girl makes him feel. Then Tyler jumps in and drops a few rhymes about his appreciation for his girl.

"In & Out" by Marcus Canty Ft. Wale

This track has a cool type of Island / Club beat to it which is a good summer single from his upcoming debut album. This is one of those tracks that just makes you start grooving to the music. This track is actually making me look forward to the album. Now on to the story line of the song itself. Marcus seems somewhat picky with the kind of girl he wants which more less  leads to him being in and out of love. Wale then chimes in and raps about how he is starting to think that maybe his girl is just a maybe because he kind of likes her but other times does not feel her.

"Enough Said" by Aaliyah Ft. Drake

Aaliyah - Enough Said (featuring Drake)

Another unreleased and partially unfinished track from the late R&B singer has surfaced. I personally do not believe that this song was intended to feature a rapper, but that is what we ended up with. Personally, if the decision was up to me, then I would rather prefer Jay-Z than the profanity spewing Drake. After listening to the song I believe that it is good, until Drake appears on the track. I just feel like Drake butchered the song. Overall, I honestly feel like the version without Drake is better.

You can listen to both versions, one with Drake and one without below

(Album Review) Kelly Rowland - "Talk A Good Game"

Tracklist

1. Freak - Kelly starts the album with a uptempo, club friendly and energetic track. In track she is simply singing about being his freak.
2. Kisses Down Low - This highly sexual song gets straight to the point of kissing down low
3. Gone [Feat. Wiz Khalifa] - I have liked this song ever since I first heard it with it's sample of "Big Yellow Taxi" by Joni Mitchell
4. Talk A Good Game [Feat. Kevin Cossom] - The album title track is a song about a significant other that just makes broken promises and does not keep it 100% truthful and forward
5. Down On Love - This song is kinda depressing and is from the stance of a single and lonely person  who is down on love
6. Dirty Laundry - This song grabbed my attention the first time I heard it and mainly because it talked about soo many issues9
7. You Changed [Feat. Beyoncé & Michelle] - This song is basically a Destiny's Child (or DC3)  reunion and I really do not have anything else to say
8. I Remember - This song focuses on a past relationship and the good memories during that time
9. Red Wine - I love the 80's feel I get from this track
10. This Is Love - In this song Kelly simply sings about how much she is in love
11. Street Life [Feat. Pusha T] - This track has that real smooth southern flow to it. It goes on to talk about the joys of living that street life
12. Stand In Front Of Me - This track has a somewhat 50's feel to it
13. Sky Walker [Feat. The Dream] - In this song she sings about what he needs in a woman and how she will be what he needs
14. Put Your Name On It - This song goes on to explain to him that she is all his and that he can put his name on "it"
15. #1 - She explains to him that she will only be his #1  and no others are allow

(New Music) Destiny's Child - 'Nuclear'

Love Songs

Now I am going to be 100% honest with you. This in no way is a new track, it was probably recorded circa 2003 / 2004 as a unused track from their "Destiny Fulfilled" album recording sessions. Their new album "Love Songs" is set for a January 29th release and will most likely be filled with unreleased tracks.
